Premier’s Bloomington Endoscopy Center hosts Congressman Todd Young

Tuesday, September 2nd, Administrator Teleatha Mortimer and the rest of the Bloomington Endoscopy Center (BEC) welcomed Congressman Todd Young on an educational visit on the benefits and cost savings of Ambulatory Surgery Centers like the BEC. This visit was coordinated during the ASCA’s (Ambulatory Surgery Center Association) Capitol Fly-In Event that Teleatha Mortimer, Indiana Federation of Ambulatory Surgery Centers Board member, attended in June of this year.

During this Capitol Fly-In Event, the BEC met with Senators Joe Donnelly and Dan Coats as well as Representatives Todd Young, Larry Bucshon and Jackie Walorski. They were asked to support legislation that will ensure the viability of ASCs in the community, increase access to colorectal screenings, and allow our centers to effectively implement electronic health record usage.

Congressman Todd Young’s visit on Tuesday was a follow up facility tour to learn more about how ambulatory surgery centers deliver cost effective and efficient healthcare.
